Just changed my oil and put 2.5 quarts in and lo and behold it is right at the top of the window. I thought the same thing you did, maybe I didn't get all the oil out. Idled the engine and it stayed about the same, rode down about 6 houses and then back and let it sit several hours, same thing. I'm going to drain some of that oil. By the way, I used Mobil 1 15-50, it's really hot here in the summer time (central Texas) and I didn't want my oil breaking down, plus I wanted protection when it is 95 degrees outside. I'll let you know about my observations on the new oil.
